The investigation of the murders of four young men in 1986 are unsolved. The NYPD shelve the investigation. Three years have passed since those four homicides. Eddie Lane, a private investigator, is contacted by a large Canadian Detective Agency to investigate one of the murders. Clemence Victor Jennings, one of the victims, had made his home with several friends in the Morton building, an unused textiles factory in the Docklands of New York. Jennings was homosexual and had left his home in Canada because of his wealthy homophobic father. He was the heir to a fortune, but chose to live as a vagrant with little amenities in the Morton Building.

Lane’s incentive to solve the case is a $200,000 bonus, to paid by the sister of Jennings. While investigating this case his past life as a New York Detective catches up with him. Two men have planned his demise. They are looking for revenge for killing their brothers. Now he has to concern himself with not only solving a murder case, but also keeping himself alive..
