It was a beautiful day in Chicklemunk valley. Birds sang in the trees while children laughed. Two little chicklemunks played with a wheelbarrow. Toby was wheeling the barrow around with his friend Pip, who was inside it. He was holding on with all of his might.

Mrs Cranny was hanging up washing on a line that was tied to two trees. Little wooden houses that were attached to the huge trees could be seen all over the valley. Other animals lived along side the Chicklemunks, in the surrounding valleys such as Badgers, Rabbits, Raccoons and Squirrels. They would visit the valley from time to time.
